For years, I've been exploring the local Los Padres National Forest, searching for intimate, beautiful spots. I’ve found it has a wealth of them. Coniferous forested peaks sprout from chaparral covered hillsides. Gigantic rock formations soar into the sky. Glittering turquoise pools, silver threaded waterfalls and roaring cascades, its beauty is boundless.
These scenic treasures have inspired me to try and capture a bit of this natural elegance in art.
I have always admired the WPA National Park Posters of the 30's and 40’s, and taking an artistic cue from them, I decided to produce this series of posters.
Numerous hikes are sometimes necessary to get the required photographs and sketches to produce a poster. The Los Padres Forest never disappoints.
